Located in a natural inlet along the southwestern coast of Sardinia, the port of Portovesme represents the gateway to the sea for the industrial complex of Portoscuso. It is equipped with special piers used for the loading and unloading of goods specific to the goods produced in the surrounding area. It also plays a fundamental role as a passenger port, with regular annual traffic to and from the Island of San Pietro.

The Port of Portovesme is connected, towards the North West, by the E25, with Porto Torres (about 280 km); towards the North East, by the E25 and the State Road 131 to the city of Olbia (about 310 km); towards the North West, by the E25, with the Port of Oristano (about 130 km) and towards the East, by the SP2 and the State Road 130, to the city of Cagliari (about 81 km).

There is no intermodal centre, the closest being in the town of Carbonia 19 km away.

It is also possible to get to Alghero – Fertilia airport by bus with the Logudoro Tour, starting from Piazza Matteotti in Cagliari, which guarantees 2 trips a day 7 days a week.
